student fundraising

By Maz Di Felice, Student Fundraising Assistant

Whilst Summer Holidays are in full swing, our Student Fundraising Team are busy getting ready for the coming year. With so many exciting things happening over the next few months, we thought we’d give you a preview of what’s to come on our university programme, Your Uni, Their Lives…

We’ve been nominated!

This week, we learnt that Hope for Children has been nominated for the Charity of the Year Award at this year’s RAG conference in Southampton. We are delighted to have been shortlisted as one of the top three charities, especially as this is the first time we’ve been nominated.

Fundraising coming to a Peak!

This August, our student fundraisers will be travelling off with Choose a Challenge to trek the Earth’s highest mountain, Mount Everest, or heading out to Tanzania to climb Mount Kilimanjaro.

Copy of Mountains, Megaraids, and major achievements!Students heading out to climb to the Roof of Africa will also have the life-changing opportunity of spending time at one of the projects that supports children in the local area. One is an empowerment project working with 200 Maasai women to increase their household incomes, enabling them to create a brighter future for their children The other, a programme that identifies street children, offering a safe and healthy temporary refuge whilst providing them with the opportunity to restart their education.

A big good luck to everyone taking part, and a special thank you to all our brilliant Ambassadors, who have been supporting and leading their teams all year.

New Partnerships

We are excited to announce that in 2017/18, we will be working with more universities than ever before, who have chosen us to be their charity partner for the coming year. So far our Your Uni, Their Lives partner universities include Bournemouth, Plymouth, Kent, Exeter, University College London, Hertfordshire, London School of Economics, Newcastle, Durham, Lancaster, Dundee, Edinburgh, the University of the West of England & Bristol, and hopefully that list will grow even more in the coming months.

The MegaRaid is Back!

MegaRaidLeading up to Christmas, don’t miss out on the chance to be part of our big London MegaRaid taking place in December. This event involves both university students from all across the country, as well as our wider supporters, coming together to raise awareness of Hope for Children, and what we do, as well as fundraising. It’s a great event, and the more the merrier, so don’t hesitate to bring your friends along!
